Trinity Explores:

Treating the Spirit in an Age of Prozac

Gordon Marino, Professor of Philosophy at St. Olaf College and noted Kierkegaard scholar, will speak at Trinity Explores, Thursday, February 2, at 7:00 pm. Admission is free.

In response to the many questions raised in his New York Times Article “Kierkegaard on the Couch,” Marino has been touring the country speaking about the difference between depression and despair: “In the present age, we have collapsed the difference between despair and depression, between a psychological and spiritual disorder. In this talk, I will enlist Kierkegaard to revive that distinction and to help us think about the borderline between mental and spiritual life.”

Marino is a delightfully engaging individual who will enable easy conversation about this difficult, unacknowledged topic that so undergirds contemporary American life.
