Leah Lyman Waldron

Executive Assistant to the Senior Pastor

Leah thinks her two-year-old daughter is the most delightful human on the planet but finds toddler-free date nights with her husband equally delightful. Watching a movie in one sitting and still getting a good night's sleep is her idea of living large.

Leah attended Wellesley College and majored in French; she has a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology. She honed her pastoral skills as a chaplain resident at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and is ordained in the United Church of Christ (UCC), where she serves as a preaching pastor and contributes to a national UCC blog.

Leah writes her own blog about building a stylish wardrobe from thrift store finds. She is proud to have started the millennials-attending-yoga-class trend at Trinity.

Diana Pedrick

Welcome Center Coordinator

Diana is often the first face you see when arriving at Trinity or the first voice you hear greeting callers.For 35 years, she was on the management team at Rich's/Macy's, and her last position was Divisional Vice President/General Manager at Rich's Cobb Center in Smyrna.

Diana loves animals of all kinds and meeting new people. The best advice she ever received was never, never, never give up.



Jason Ranke

Executive Assistant to the Senior Associate Pastor and to the Director of Administration and Finance

Jason aspires to eventually have a clean office (with a window) and a de-cluttered desk.

His work week is filled with juggling the numerous administrative tasks associated with the Finance, Commitment, Congregational Care, and Spiritual Formation ministries, and yet, he knows where everything is located on his heaped-high desk. He has a Master of Divinity from Mercer University.

Summer is his favorite season and his hobbies include growing an epic beard (3+ months and counting).

Marcy considers having children her greatest achievement and would love to take them to Ireland to enjoy the lush landscape of rolling green hills.

She has been with the Air Force all her life and considers her service one of her proudest accomplishments. As a member of the armed forces, she has traveled extensively for work and pleasure, and she has a natural curiosity and appreciation for all people around the world.

Erin McGee

Associate Pastor of Children & Family Ministries

Erin wants to live in a world that makes honesty, gratefulness and kindness top priorities and chocolate, coffee, and naps daily expectations.

As Minister of Word and Sacrament, now Teaching Elder, in the PC (USA) for 19 years, Erin has served churches in South Carolina and Texas in the areas of education, mission, fellowship, worship leadership and pastoral care, as well as editing the Presbyterian curriculum, We Believe. She is Trinity’s second longest installed pastor, serving as the Associate Pastor for Children and Their Families for over 11 years. Erin is a Masters of Divinity graduate from Austin Presbyterian Seminary where she was recognized as a Jean Brown scholar and recipient of the John Spragens award in Christian Education, and is a Bachelors of Arts graduate from Davidson College, where she gained a love of learning and laundry services.

Erin is the parent to teenagers Hannah and Jonathan. You will find her chaperoning the marching band, coordinating transportation to fencing tournaments or pick-up football games, advocating for adoption and adoptive families, cooking Indian food, learning new photography skills, refereeing the dogs and the cat, and dreaming of the Western mountains.

Elizabeth Davis

Director of Preschool Ministries and Children’s Recreational Ministries

Elizabeth wants to be a good role model to children and find ways to help them feel and share the love of God.

She has eight years experience working with children through ministry as a camp counselor, summer camp director, and director of children's ministry at churches and camps within the Presbytery of Greater Atlanta. Elizabeth holds a degree in physical education from Jacksonville State University

She loves sports and cheers for many teams--JSU Gamecocks, Georgia Bulldogs, and Auburn Tigers! Gymnastics was her first sports love, and she owns six state titles.

Brett Davis

Brett, originally from Wilmington, N.C., joined the Food Service Team this year. He has a passion for cooking and has been a chef for more than 15 years. He is the proud father of three-year-old Kenynna.



Leah Gardner

Leah joined the Food Service Team in 2016. She has two children - a teenage son and a two-year-old daughter. She enjoys spending time with her family and loves animals.

Jerome has a wealth of experience in the food service industry. He joined the Trinity staff in 2016. While not busy creating fantastic meals, he enjoys spending time with his family. He is a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Santa Fe, NM. He has two daughters and two sons.

John Goodson

A native Atlantan, John attended North Atlanta High School and Atlanta Area Tech College. He consideres himself a laid back person who loves to travel and cook. He is almost always in a great mood and is grateful for the opportunities he has had in his life.



Stafford James

Hospitality Staff

Stafford, who prefers to be called "James," describes himself as a "lover of all things." A brief conversation with him lets you know that he loves life, he loves God, and people.



Karen Simmons

Operations Manager

Karen brings 30+ years of customer service experience to Trinity. As Operations Manager, she works with the Food Service team, Custodial staff, receptionist, and police/security officers to facilitate the operations of the church. She manages the church calendar and is the primary contact for all outside groups seeking to use church facilities. She and her husband have been married for 28 years and are the parents of two daughters and two "fur babies."



TreVarius Worthy

Hospitality Staff

TreVarius describes himself as "an old man stuck in his ways," but everyone who knows him can appreciate his willingness to help and can-do attitude. Not only does TreVarius share his gifts at Trinity, he owns his own landscaping company. TreVarius is the proud father of one-year-old Cadence.


Jalil Young

Born in Miami, Florida, Jalil moved to Decatur in 2002. While attending Southwest DeKalb High School, he was the starting quarterback of the school's football team. He then went on to Victor Valley College in Victorville, California, where he played a season of football. Jalil joined the Hospitality Staff in 2016.

Patti Heinz

Assistant for Music and Fine Arts

Patti is a life-long Trinitarian. She was baptized here as an infant and met her soon-to-be husband, Charles, in youth group. They were married at Trinity in 1979 by Rev. Allison Williams. They have two daughters, who were also baptized at Trinity. All four are Elders and have served on the Session.

Patti has a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia and a master's degree from Georgia State University. She taught Kindergarten in the Cobb County Schools for 18 years. She began working part-time at Trinity as a Music Associate in 1998, and in 2005 began working full-time with the Worship and Music Ministry.

When she's not at work, she loves gardening, baking, playing games, singing in the choir, and watching UGA football. Her favorite vacation is going to the beach with family. She also loves spending time with the four Golden Retrievers of the family.

Norman Mackenzie

Director of Music and Fine Arts

Norman has been the Director of Music and Fine Arts at Trinity since 1983. He oversees a comprehensive program including several singing and ringing choirs and two concert series. He also serves as the Director of Choruses for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, where his work led to Grammy Awards from the Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in 2003, 2005, and 2007. He also maintains an active solo recital and guest conducting schedule.

Youth & Families Ministry


Andrew Esqueda

Director of Youth and Family Ministries

Andrew looks forward to living in a world where the temperature is always 76 degrees, the West Coast is recognized as the best coast, schedules manage themselves, and the plural of "moose" is (as it should be) "meese".

Andrew has worked in Youth and Family Ministries for the last 10 years. Before coming to Trinity, Andrew served as Director of High School Ministry at Roswell Presbyterian Church. He has a keen interest in the study of theology and its integration into Youth and Family Ministries. Andrew is a regular contributor to the Progressive Youth Ministry blog and a seminar leader at the Progressive Youth Ministry Conference, co-organizer of Open Atlanta, and has twice presented at the Northwest Region of the American Academy of Religion.

Andrew loves spending time with his two-year-old son and wife. He is often found reading theology and philosophy at any number of craft coffee shops around the Atlanta area. He is a self-proclaimed foodie, coffee snob, and connoisseur of all things fine and delicious.



Olivia Patterson

Associate Director of Youth & Family Ministries

Olivia's heartfelt desires include learning to do a cartwheel, cuddling with a tiger, and chasing the perfect sunset. More realistically, she wants to share her story, to be brave enough to live somewhere unfamiliar, and perhaps to launch a side career in calligraphy.

Before coming to Trinity, Olivia worked with the youth ministry at First Presbyterian Church in Athens. She graduated from UGA with a bachelor's degree in Public Relations and a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences. She hopes to pursue a degree in seminary one day.

In her free time, Olivia tries to convince herself she enjoys running and actually enjoys reading and watching Netflix with her husband. She also loves to send mail to her friends, attempt photography, and play hide-and-seek with her dog, Pepper.
