7:00am - 8:15am
This group of women gathers each Wednesday morning at 7 AM for a light breakfast and stimulating conversation around a provocative book. They digest a book chapter by chapter each week, and discuss where the author’s ideas intersect their own spiritual experiences. Because the group finishes by 8:15, its schedule works well for working women. For a stimulating start to your day, join us and be awakened to new insights, new relationships, and new angles of vision on our life as disciples.
Chapter 3 Groups
Various locations and times.
If you’re a woman in midlife facing a season of changes—whether it’s becoming an empty nester, experiencing a shift in significant relationships, or pondering what’s next in your career or life in general—this group provides a safe space for women to explore with one another where God may be in the midst of all this.
Children & Families Small Groups
Wednesday, beginning October 5 and concluding November 16, 9:30 – 11:30 am
Thursday, beginning October 6 and concluding November 17, 7:00 – 8:30 pm
C105 (Groom's Room) for both days
Over seven weeks we will be reading and discussing CS Lewis' book Mere Christianity. In this book, we'll explore the common ground upon which all Christians stand together. Childcare is available.
Men in Transition
Various times and locations
Are you into the second half of your career? Children have launched? Relationship have changed? MIT are small groups focused on inviting men to know themselves, each other, and God more deeply. We explore spiritual practices, learn developmental touch points, and share with one another the feelings and questions that this particular junction brings to the surface.
We gather together to support each other and grow in our faith as we continue on the adventure of parenthood.
1st & 3rd Tuesdays of each month
Dads of kids of all ages come together twice a month in a small group setting to share stories and continue to try and help each other understand what it means to be a husband and father grounded in scripture.
12:30pm - 1:00pm
“Recollection, surrender, mindfulness, compassion – these practices nourish the heart.” (C. Bourgeault) This group provides space for silence and reflection and the holiness those bring. We begin with instructions and a short reading to help us engage the silence. We meditate for 20 minutes together and close with a blessing. Come as you are!
Spirituality of Aging (The Third Act, Elder Wisdom)
Various times and locations
We gather to explore our faith as we live into this stage of life, our elderhood. What does the narrative of our life have to teach us about how to live? What are our opportunities for growth now? What are the challenges?
1st & 3rd Wednesdays, beginning September 7
10:00am - noon
The TENT chooses a book to read and explore at multiple levels. We begin with a time of silence away from the noisy world. Then we have in-depth discussions and fun related to our reading. Our discussions invite us to dive below the surface appearances of life & discover the depths of shared humanity & spirituality. We also enjoy a field trip once a year. All women in the community are welcome. You don’t need to sign up; just come.
Writing as Spiritual Practice
10:00 am – 11:30 am
Participants will engage in writing for the purpose of deepening our spirits and cultivating an awareness of the Holy in our lives. Our mornings together include a series of “writing prompts,” quiet time for writing, and group discussions. Whether you consider yourself a writer or not, you are welcome!
