Together with all believers who gather around word and sacrament, Trinity Presbyterian Church exists to serve God with joy and to bear witness to God’s transforming love made known in Jesus Christ.
We commit ourselves to be God’s faithful, hopeful people in this particular time and place, claiming our distinctive heritage of being progressive in outlook, inclusive in composition, generous is spirit, engaged in the larger community and the broad issues that affect society, and involved collaboratively with the local communities and the greater church of which we are a part.
We are committed as a spiritual community:
To magnify the glory of God and proclaim the gospel through worship which challenges the mind, nourishes the spirit, honors tradition, demonstrates liturgical depth, exercises creativity in its use of music and the arts, and addresses the needs of individuals and families today.
To grow in grace, forgiveness, reconciliation, and mutual support, including and respecting children, youth, and people of differing ages and points of view, valuing and affirming our existing membership, welcoming and involving new members, and inviting all who would join us in seeking to live as the body of Christ.
To nurture the whole person—mind, heart, and soul—providing continuing opportunities for the development of faith, character, and intellect of all our members throughout their lives, and encouraging that continual exploration and insight which keeps us open to the new world God is always creating.
To be a church in the world, believing that wholeness comes from reaching beyond ourselves and serving the common good.
To be bold in addressing human need through social action, working to make God’s justice, mercy, and love a living reality in our own lives, in the larger community, and in the world.
To give gratefully and generously of ourselves and our financial resources in offering our best to God, so that we might love God with our whole being and love our neighbors as we love ourselves.
